Tibetan refugee colony, Delhi, India. Rytis Kurkulis photography.

Tibetan refugee colony or Majnu-Ka-Tilla is the small district on the bank of Yamuna river in the north Delhi. It is the small piece of Himalaya in Delhi and true oasis for those tired of the buzz of dusty city. It is almost unique place in Delhi where you can just sit in the small square and watch the daily life of small comunity. And nobody will disturb you. Simple and inexpencive local hotels are occupied almost by tibetan monks and backpackers trying to escape from Delhi’s touts and hassle.
